Health Fair Expo 2015 from Tomorrow

The Ministry of Ayush, in
association with the World Ayurveda
Foundation, the State government, and the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for
Biotechnology will organise Arogya Expo 2015, a fair which will bring together
medical practitioners, researchers, drug manufacturers, and suppliers in the
field of complementary and alternative medicine from around the country.
The expo, aimed at popularising
Ayurveda, Siddha, Homoeopathy, Unani, and such indigenous systems of medicine,
will be held at the Poojapura ground from Thursday to Sunday. Union Minister
for Ayush Shripad Yesso Naik will inaugurate the expo at 6 p.m. on Wednesday,
RGCB Director M. Radhakrishna Pillai and National Arogya general secretary S.
Sunilkumar said at a press conference here on Tuesday. Chief Minister Oommen
Chandy and Health Minister V.S. Sivakumar will be present on the occasion.
The expo will feature the
stalls of over 200 companies, and the Department of Ayush, National Medicinal
Plants Board, and other State governments. The event is expected to attract 700
delegates from around the country.
The expo will be open to the
public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Thursday. One of the main attractions of the
event will be free Ayush clinics where people can walk in for consultation with
physicians. There will also be seminars on ‘Entrepreneurship in Ayurveda,’
‘Research in Ayurveda,’ and Public Health. Workshops on the Ayurveda way of
cooking have also been planned.
