JOB SUMMARY

The App Developer (Temp) will be part of the global ANSYS App Store project with the main objective to develop additional ACT-based applications to be made available on the App Store. With the launch of App Store 2.0 by the end of Q3-very beginning of Q4, 2016 it is critical to populate the App Store with many Apps in order to attract new visitors in particular and new players in general. The porting of already-available Apps on the App Store from one release to the new one will also be critical. This task was recently performed by one Intern in Lyon, France who left after his internship (Temp).

The Intern will also assist our developers/testers to achieve some of our projects for the upcoming release by performing interactive testing of existing applications and will contribute to the training materials. These training materials are also key to develop the ANSYS ecosystem to make sure that new players will be encouraged to develop new Apps to be posted on the App Store.

The Intern is or will be a mechanical engineer once graduated. First background and skills on scripting is expected with ideally a first knowledge of IronPython.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

●Develop new ACT-based applications using the ACT toolkit

●Port already-available apps from one release to another one

●Contribute to training materials to create new apps in order to promote the ANSYS ecosystem

●Do interactive testing for new developments and validate the application is working as expected

●Generate the documentation so that end users easily understand how to use the applications

●Perform interactive testing for existing applications and operate the necessary migration work when needed

●Maintain and manage the source code of the applications using the regular ANSYS process

●Ensure quality for the applications available on the ANSYS App Store

JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

●Student preparing Mechanical engineering diploma

●Interest and minimum of skills in scripting

●Initial knowledge of Python

●Ability to write good technical English documentation

●Good organizational skills

●Attention to detail

OTHER INFORMATION

●Strong service attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure developments fit with the expectations

●Good written communication skills

●Good oral communication for reporting
