Job Description :

The Intercompany team is responsible for the month end close process for Intercompany balances as well as the responsibility for monitoring and clearance of Intra reconciliations and Open Trades breaks within specific entities globally.

The successful applicant will be an integral member in the IMO group with responsibility for three business areas within the Intercompany team for the Investment Bank; IC Hard Transfers, Commissions, Intra Cash and Open Trades. This role is suitable for a qualified accountant.

This individual will challenge the current environment by working across finance and operations to streamline processes and create greater efficiencies within IC. The Intercompany team offers an opportunity to understand F2B flows across business lines, and builds an array of contacts across UBS globally. Additionally, this role provides the opportunity of managing an offshore team with the goal of increasing productivity, accountability and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities include:

-Analytical review, reconciliation and substantiation of the trading relationships across UBS' global locations in order to assist in the month end close for Group reporting.

-Delivering clean Intercompany reconciliations at trade level for reporting periods, documenting recurring issues and processes and continually improving procedures.

-Supporting a cross product environment within the Investment Bank, which transact in a diverse mix of underlying products and markets, resulting in a dynamic and challenging control environment.

-Managing the intercompany hard transfer and commissions reconciliations for the month end close, corresponding with Operations to ensure required clean-up is performed and delivered downstream for the reporting period.

-Managing the Intra company relationships across various legal entities: analysing, reconciling and substantiating the positions to support the close for Group and Parent bank regulatory reporting team.

-Manage an offshore team; includes overseeing the month end Intercompany process for IC focus areas, ensuring tight controls, addressing escalated issues, evaluating capacity utilization, evaluating performance and ensuring month end deadlines are met with complete documentation for audit purposes.

-Managing daily reporting, commentary and communication with key stakeholders across regions daily throughout the close.

-Liaising with Product Control, Change the Bank, Operations, and IT in order to improve process efficiencies for incorrect feeds and data identified in the ledger.

-On-going assessment of the Front to Back control environment including key projects to be delivered to senior management, to translate and align controls across, and between, Ops and Finance in order to increase cross functional controls and mitigate risk.

This role requires an understanding of the front-to-back information flows for the balance sheet across multiple products and business areas. Training will include on-the-job experience, on-line courses and structured lecture room classes to improve product knowledge.

Job Requirement :

CIMA / ACA / ACCA – Completed with preferably 1st time passes, although relevant work experience would compensate for lack of qualification e.g. BUC, Product Controller or Treasury Controller Role for an investment bank or trading organisation; with ability to demonstrate understanding of the front-to-back processes, controls and systems infrastructure required for a trading desk
