Title : Senior Engineer (L2)-  Windows and Virtualization

Job Summary:

Senior Engineer (L2) -Windows and Virtualization will be responsible to provide level 2 operations support to our global clients on Virtualization, Windows, hardware configuration and management platform

What we expect you to do 

1. Administer, maintain and support of a large complex Windows, Active Directory, IIS, multi-platform Virtualization environment that includes Multiple clusters, UCSB and C class, HP Blade, Dell servers

2. Conduct level 2 troubleshooting activities (if required also level 3) in a thorough and systematic manner

3. Perform root cause analysis for issues and also provide workarounds to ensure business continuity

4. Hands on experience of configuring Cisco UCS and HP Blade matrix in a large production setup

5. Identify, analyse and resolve problems specifically on Virtualization, and in general cross platform involving storage

6. Change Management: Prepare Implementation plan, rollback plan and test plan, risk and impact analysis for changes. Review the change plan and documentation prepared by peers

7. Assist in the creation of processes and procedures required for service delivery

8. Perform routine, planned and emergency maintenance (change planning and implementation) of Windows and Virtualization devices

9. Ensuring all devices are added into monitoring system with all required parameters

10. Fulfil service requests

11. Harden operating system parameters in line with client / Dimension Data security policy, standards or best practices

12. Availability and capacity planning and management: keep a track of uptime and capacity utilization of production clusters and client devices and publish reports to management

13. Perform hardware and software upgrades on ESXi servers and Virtual environments

14. Execute additional tasks given to meet internal IT projects milestones and willingness to put additional hours when ever required

15. Ensure all services are delivered as per agreed SLAs/OLAs, quality and scope

16. Update and close tickets, update documents (such as handover documents, root cause analysis, analysis and recommendations to reports, post incident reviews) in a timely manner with high quality

17. Communicate with and log calls with vendors or 3rd parties where necessary in order to resolve issues and product bugs

18. Suggest, influence and implement improvements in the environment (such as issue optimization, automation, streamlining process, etc.), thereby contribute to improvement of overall operations delivery and client satisfaction

Here's what we are looking for in candidates for this job 

1. 5 7 years work experience relevant to Enterprise level Windows and Virtualization environment

2. Solid knowledge and experience working on two or more of the following technologies: Windows, AD, IIS, HyperV, vSphere, VRealize and hardware management tools

3. Very good knowledge and experience working on Virtualization technologies on Citrix Xen and Storage technology understandings

4. Experience on scripting like PowerShell and Python

5. Experience on troubleshoot and maintain VMware infrastructure performance, hardware, and connectivity

6. Experience on Cisco UCS B and C class servers, HP servers

7. Good understanding on SAN storage provisioning, LUN masking and zoning

8. Experience on Virtualization capacity planning, performance analysis, monitoring, reporting

9. Good understanding NFS, CIFS, and Fiber Channel protocols

10. Good experience in VMware SRM supporting and managing the replication

11. Experience supporting and troubleshooting medium to large scale, multi-site, enterprise level VMware environments

12. Basic knowledge on multiple operating systems environments such as Linux and UNIX 

13. Preferred: Basic understanding of backup technologies of EMC NetWorker, Symantec NetBackup and CommVault infrastructure and operational understanding

14. Knowledge of Exchange, Live link, Blackberry will be added advantage

15. Hands on experience of working on monitoring tools / management platforms such UCS Manager, vCenter

16. Desired to have advanced Microsoft, VMware and Citrix certifications

17. Good understanding of operational framework like ITIL/ITSM, operations process 

18. Very good communication skills verbal and written

19. Willingness to work in shifts and provide on call support in a 24x7 environment 

20. Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure

21. International Client experience is required
