Breaking News: Suzlon Group appoints J P Chalasani as group CEO

Suzlon Group on April 2, 2016 has announced it has appointed leading power sector professional J P Chalasani as Group CEO. Chalasani started his career with NTPC and rose through the ranks over the years. 

After taking up the lead role in Reliance Power, he transformed the company to become the largest market cap entity in the private sector. Chalasani also led a project to transition BSES from being a power distribution company to a leading infrastructure business company.

Chalasani is known to focus on improving operations, enhancing and simplifying processes, and leveraging both HR and Finance to position companies for strong and sustainable growth to create value for stakeholders," Suzlon Group chairman Tulsi Tanti .

The Suzlon Group is a renewable energy solutions provider with an international presence across 19 countries in Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa and North and South America. 

The group has a cumulative installation of approximately 15 GW of wind energy capacity, a workforce of over 8,000, a low-cost manufacturing base and strong in-house R&D set-up in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and India. 

Approximately 9 GW of the Group's installation is in India. The company has recently forayed into the solar space.
