'Report on bread causing cancer scare-mongering' - ASSOCHAM

Industry body ASSOCHAM on Tuesday termed the findings regarding the presence of cancer-causing potassium bromate in bread as "scare-mongering" by NGOs. "While the government is trying to move towards ease of doing business... NGO policing may harm many times,” it said. Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) had earlier reported the presence of potassium bromide in 84% of pre-packaged bread.
