Role overview:

The Software Engineer will be a key member of the engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and testing software in a multi-platform environment using cutting-edge technologies. The engineer will work with system administrators, security analysts, product management and clients to ensure we produce high quality products that exceed expectations. This is a challenging and also very rewarding position where interesting projects in security are implemented in order to protect our clients from Internet intrusions.

 

Requirement overview:

The ideal applicant must have 5-8 years of experience with building Rich User Interfaces using Web 2.0 technologies and C++/Java/JavaScript based Web application frameworks. Has strong programming/algorithms/data-structures knowledge and communication skills, solid analytical and problem solving skills, applied knowledge of Software Design patterns.   Security knowledge is desirable but not required.  Applicant must be highly motivated and willing to work in a team environment with very talented individuals.

 

Extensive knowledge and experience of:

• C/C++ and CGI scripting
• JAVA and one or more of Java based web application frameworks – Grails, Spring, Struts.
• Web 2.0 based UI Development – one or more of JavaScript frameworks (JQuery, Backbone, Bootstrap), HTML5, CSS , AJAX.
• Working knowledge of Linux of one of Unix-variants.
• Solid understanding of current technologies including open source technologies
• Well versed in relational databases, SQL/PL-SQL, Schema design.
• Solid analytical and problem solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, and 5 to 8 years’ experience or equivalent work experience
• Experience in building high quality and high performance systems
• Experience with build tools (Ant), development environments (Linux) and IDE's (Eclipse or IDEA)
• Experience with source control systems, one of  (Subversion, CVS, RTC)
• Experience with unit testing tools and frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG
• Working knowledge of application/web servers – Tomcat/Apache , J2EE services and REST/SOAP based web-services

 

Desirable skills /experience:

• Software product development
• Technical knowledge and understanding of distributed systems
• Information security knowledge
• Test driven development, design, documentation and review experience
• Experience working in a geographically distributed development environment
• Experience with Tomcat
• Experience following Agile methodology
• Familiarity with any Bug Tracking System preferably Jira

• Highly motivated and willing to take on projects under deadline
• Works well in small to medium sized teams
• Proven solid analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

 

Education:

•        Bachelor’s /Master’s degree in Computer Science, or related discipline

 Certifications and qualifications desirable for this role:

• ·         Oracle/Sun Certified Web Component Developer or equivalent
• ·         Secure Software Programmer GSSP-JAVA
