The candidate is responsible for working on network monitoring and measurement tools. It mainly comprises of Solarwinds Orion, Netflow, Nagios, Ix chariot & GeniE2E tools. The day to day operations includes maintenance of these tools and servers, working on availability and capacity reporting based on work orders received, creation of customized dashboards for NOC, scripting as per requirement etc. 

General Summary 

An in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems and their administration, Solarwinds Orion, Netflow, Nagios, Ix chariot & GeniE2E tools and monitoring frameworks within this platform group is needed for this role. 

Responsibilities include network design, configuration, monitoring; hardware configuration and implementation of Solar Winds Orion, Net flow, Nagios, server, application ,Licensing and network profiling

Desired Profile

• The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and abilities required:
• Requires an understanding of the networking in a multi-tier application transaction infrastructure
• Specific hands on experience with Solar Winds Orion, Net flow, Nagios and ix chariot, Geni endtoend setting up and optimizing network and application monitoring, Linux AMD setup and configuration
• DMI ( Data Mining Interface ) experience and ability to effectively design and test reports
• Experience working with various infrastructure teams to design monitoring strategy
• A strong understanding of network topologies and how networked systems interact
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience required with Juniper, Cisco and Checkpoint devices.
• Strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience in the following areas: IP Routing, Ethernet Switching, Cisco and Junipers VPNs, network Security, QoS , IP Services such as DNS, Web Proxy, Socks, Multicast, global and/or local server load balancing, Unix OS, Windows

Strong interpersonal skills are required

5+ years experience in enterprise monitoring & Applications support required

5+ years experience working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware and network related equipment

5+ year's experience knowledge and experience of customer service practices

Candidate Prerequisites 

• Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar.
• The applicant will require a background in various Network Monitoring and Measurement tools.
• Experience in a similar role is essential, with 5+ years networking experience in a similar support role.
• The candidate will need to be prepared to be flexible in approach to work content and responsibilities, along with out of hours and on call support.
• Must be a self starter and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
• Ideal candidate should have a good understanding of ITIL problem and change management practices, working to defined service level agreements.
• A self-motivated person who is able to work on multiple projects
• Able to maintain a positive and cooperative attitude in sometimes stressful situations
• Good organization and communication skills. Able to cope with demanding schedules and tight deadlines. Conscientious, able to communicate well with our customers at all levels, and have a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
